about aimee huber and elemental photography

Raised in the small, tight-knit community of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, I grew up knowing practically everyone in town. For years I observed the same group of people engage in everyday activities and routine rituals; I wiled away my adolescence with the practice of photographing my favorite characters about town, capturing slice-of-life moments that were at once familiar and brand new. I became fascinated with composing portraits that were truly reflective of the subjects in real time and in natural surroundings, always focused on showcasing the beauty in the seemingly ordinary.

I adorned the walls of my family's home with images of friends and relatives. My passion for photography continued well after there was no more open wall space. Undeterred, I simply incorporated the ceilings as part of my makeshift gallery!

While studying Architecture at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, I quickly realized that I did not feel the same exhilaration behind the drafting table as I did when I was behind the camera lens. Consequently, I adjusted my academic course and graduated with a degree in Architecture and a minor in Art with an emphasis in Photography.

While I enjoy fine art, nature and architectural photography, my true calling is in portrait photography. The love of documenting everyday life and people that began in my youth remains with me today and is the driving principle behind Elemental Photography.

There is nothing more thrilling to me than capturing those special, fleeting, soulful "moments" that shed light on a person's true nature. I use a variety of special techniques during the shoots and in post-production to create one-of-a-kind, enduring keepsakes that can be treasured for generations to come.

As a mother to three beautiful children and wife to a loving, supportive and talented husband, I know the importance of celebrating life's most cherished milestones and memories.

I would love the opportunity to photograph you and your loved ones to commemorate a special occasion or to honor the present moment. Please contact me, Aimee Huber, anytime for a free consultation. I look forward to meeting you soon.
